Absolutely and categorically not.
If you have read the other post about the importance of diversity to addressing pressing socioecological challenges, you'd have a good sense of why we need not just knowledge and expertise from different disciplines and sectors, but also the diverse aspirations, experiences, and values.
Nature-Based Solutions (NbS)'s application has to and needs to go beyond agriculture!
We need NbSs that can unite 'regenerators' from all disciplines and sectors to co-design systems that restore ecosystems while supporting human well-being. From architects and urban planners who reimagine cities as living landscapes, to engineers developing climate-resilient infrastructure, from bankers and investors financing socially and environmentally impactful ventures, to designers, entrepreneurs, and researchers innovating circular economies. As a socioecological economist, I always emphasised that all professions have a role in shaping a nature-based, people- and planet-centric future.
Who should attend #NBSAsiaSummit2026?
Everyone who wants to have a stake in regenerating Asia, environmentally or socially!
Here's a graph which illustrates the different roles one may identify with. It is not an exhaustive list by any means. It's drawn to highlight that all these roles are key to catalyse all 5 Top Missions of #NBSAsiaSummit.
